BASIC FUNCTION:  Coordinate and oversee the implementation of effective Districtwide behavioral health initiatives including school-based behavioral health services and supports, restorative justice, and crisis response.

Identify and direct District behavioral health program priorities.  E

 

Provide leadership in the coordination of Districtwide crisis response services and supports in collaboration with service providers and appropriate District departments.  E  

 

Collaborate with the City of Oakland and Alameda County Healthcare Services to monitor, enhance, and expand city and county funded school-based behavioral health services, including the selection of service providers.  E

 

Collaborate with school sites, District staff and community partners to coordinate and integrate behavioral health initiatives into core school programs.  E

 

Provide training and technical assistance in collaboration with other District departments to support the implementation of effective site-based Coordination of Service Teams (COST), Student Success Teams, and School Safety and Climate Teams.  E  

 

Oversee District’s Restorative Justice initiatives including development and implementation of a continuum of restorative justice practices and protocols in collaboration with school sites, community partners, and other District departments.  E 

 

Collaborate with service partners and other District departments on the development and implementation of a positive school climate initiative integrating the Response to Intervention Program framework with existing District protocols and practices. 

 

Collaborate with other District departments to align behavioral health services and supports with other programs as appropriate.  E

 

Collaborate with City of Oakland and Alameda County to align publicly-funded behavioral health services along a public health continuum of care including prevention, early intervention, and intensive services.  E

 

Assist in evaluating school-based behavioral health services and supports and provide recommendations for quality improvement.  E

 

Research and leverage additional funding to expand behavioral health services and initiatives.  E

 

Oversee all behavioral health and restorative justice grants and contracts to ensure fiscal compliance.  E  

 

Oversee and monitor programs and services to ensure fiscal compliance.  E

 

Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance and duties of assigned staff.  E

 

Attend trainings and collaborative sessions to share best practices and disseminate knowledge.  E

 

Perform related duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  a master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university, three years experience in program management and two years experience in direct counseling with a diverse population of children, youth, and families.

 

Experience in a public school district preferred.

 

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 

Valid California Marriage and Family Therapist License or Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist License

 

Current California Board of Behavioral Sciences six-hour supervision training certification (or within 60 days of hire date)

 

Valid California Driver’s License

 

Employment eligibility will include fingerprints, tuberculosis and/or other employment clearance
